Server replacement - Migrating RCS to new servers

Server replacement (RCS installation and migration of previous configuration) when there are active agents on the old servers and the servers maintain the same CN, IP addresses and all the configuration.

Requirements/Conditions/Restraints

• The servers maintain the same CN, IP addresses and all the configuration.

Instructions

If there are no active agents you can perform a regular installation, otherwise:

1. stop the services on the old servers;

2. copy the C:\RCS folders of old master node and collector on external media;

3. disconnect old servers from the network;

4. move the dongle from old to new master node;

5. install the new server (with same IP);

6. stop the services on the new one;

7. replace the directories C:\RCS of new master node and collectors with the data copied from the old servers;

8. start the services in new servers;

9. done.
